We Be Representin'

Even though there are some negative stereotypes out there about the elderly, like we are stubborn, old fashioned, technologically impaired and absolutely clueless about our younger peers, I would like to improve our image by showing you great examples of those that have aged but have not lost their spark. Here is a list of  TV characters that can represent us fairly:
  1. House, M.D.: Season One House has proven to be a beloved member of the old maybe because we share the same medication or maybe he has shown that walking around with a cane can be a totally stud move.
  2. Glee: The Complete First Season I know this is a teenage oriented show but if you take a moment and notice that the adults have just as much to do with the plot  than the singing chickens you can see that everyone has a little Sue Sylvester in them waiting to get out. Amen Sister Sue!
  3. Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete First Season Larry David makes aging seem funny .....to those who don`t have to deal with him.
  4. Sh*t My Dad Says The book turned TV show is a great example of what you can do when a parent is losing his mind ...make money off it! William Shatner has never shied away from getting a good laugh from himself as he got older, making it OK for us to do the same.  You too can turn your dysfunctional parents into a success story for you, so you can finally have something to thank them for: screwing up your life!
I know there are plenty more out there but this is all I could remember at this (senior) moment.

To The Young Folk

This blog is not about us old farts being wiser and better than all the younglings. Quite the opposite: we don`t have it all figured out and we sure as hell ain't perfect! But we are sick of ageism everywhere especially with people our own age--wtf?! So here on this forum is an opportunity for  the generation in which  Mad Men is based to speak our minds. Here is where the old can roam free as fast or as slow as they may.

A glimpse into our youth Mad Men: Season One.
